Wait, we already played that. Didn't we?

An intro is a part (normally at the beginning or middle) of an episode in which the theme song plays. Intros and their theme songs have been altered over the course of the series.

Total Firey Points[]

Total Firey Points Intro

There is a panel in one of the Total Firey Points books that says "Intro".

Battle for Dream Island[]

BFDI Intro

BFDI intro

In BFDI, the intro starts with all the contestants standing in the plains, with most of them looking towards the camera. The camera then pans to Dream Island, as the BFDI logo appears. It then cuts to black and shows the credits.

In "Sweet Tooth", the intro begins to play for a second time in the episode, before the Announcer cuts it off, remembering they had already played it.

This also happened during "Gardening Hero", but Leafy insists that the Announcer play it again for good measure, which he does.

Music: "bass 8ths sample.wav" by beatloaf.

Battle for Dream Island Again[]

BFDIA Season II Intro

The BFDIA intro from BFDIA 1-5e & 9-10

In BFDIA, the intro is identical to the BFDI intro, except the landscape is a different shade, grass blades are spread uniformly instead of being clustered under each contestant, and Dream Island is now gone (because Leafy stole it). The logo appears like normal, but instead of cutting to black, the word "again" appears below the logo and the credits fade in.

A modified version of the intro was shown in "Zeeky Boogy Doog", where it read "Battle for Nothing" instead, with 5 exclamation points replacing the word "again". The only difference in terms of visuals is Pin's angry facial expression.

BFDIA Intro in Yoyle land (EP 6-8)

The BFDIA intro from BFDIA 6-8

The intro is updated in "Well Rested" to change the location to Yoyleland. Everyone's assets were also updated to their IDFB bodies.

Due to the contestants returning to Goiky in the previous episode, the original intro is used as of "Catch These Hands".

Another modified version of the intro was shown in "Lots of Mud", where it reads "But Flower's Doing It", with 3 exclamation points replacing the word "again", this time next to the logo. The logo's text is now in yellow and pink instead of yellow and orange, Flower appears in the background at the end and the constestants were changed, with the removal of the eliminated contestants, Pin losing her limbs and face, and Bomby being purple and Tennis Ball being shred. Jacknjellify is replaced by Flower and the music credits is changed to "Isn't she beautiful?".

Music: "bass 8ths sample.wav" by beatloaf, but pitched up 2 semitones from G to A.

But Flower's Doing It variant[]

ButFlowersDoingItIntro

The "But Flower's Doing It" intro

As part of April Fools, in "Lots of Mud", a variation of the normal intro for BFDIA appears. As Flower is now hosting, the intro reads "But Flower's Doing It" with two exclamation points, similar to "Battle for Nothing". In contrast to the "Battle for Nothing" intro's lack of noticeable visual changes, however, this intro is updated to match the status of the contestants as of the episode:

  • Bomby is purple.
  • Fries has two missing fries.
  • Pin is completely featureless.
  • Tennis Ball is dead.
  • All eliminated contestants are not seen.

Instead of a view of the Goiky Canal, Flower's head is seen, grinning widely. The intro text, colored pink and yellow, now reads "But Flower's Doing It!!". The credits now credit her, rhetorically asking "Isn't she beautiful?".

IDFB[]

IDFB Intro Season III

IDFB intro

In IDFB, the intro starts with the contestants outside of the LOL falling against a white background, changing between 1-3 different expressions. It shows their names below them. The LOL then shows the contestants who are still inside. The shot changes to the original layout, with the contestants standing in the foreground before the camera pans into the background, now showing Yoyle City instead, with the IDFB logo appearing. The theme song is a remix of the original theme.

Music: Dadaaa, remix of bass 8ths sample.wav. (Confirmed by Cary Huang)

Battle for B.F.D.I. (S4a) and Battle for B.F.B. (S4b)[]

BFB (Before Split) Intro

The Intro from BFB 1-16.

In BFB, it begins with a poorly drawn version of Four. The camera then moves quickly down a line of the contestants, who are organized by color, ending at Marker and Pen. It does not show any dark blue, purple, gray, pink, or red characters. The camera then zooms out to show the contestants, including those not shown in the line, now on an unknown, monochromatic landscape, with Four standing in the background. It then cuts to the logo, with a picture of Four and X, and the text "Battle for B.F.D.I." or "Battle for B.F.B." emerging from it.

Subsequent episodes don't play the beginning of the intro, and they start at the part where Four is poorly drawn.

BFN (BFB) Intro

The Intro in "Enter the Exit" (BFN)

In "Enter the Exit", a Battle for Nothing intro plays. The following changes happen; they reflect the characters' appearances as of BFB 10:

  • Four is missing.
  • The remaining members of Beep are orange.
  • Tree and a fortune cookie are inside Bottle.
  • Woody is dented.
  • Cloudy and Bomby are covered in tape.
  • Saw is missing her handle.
  • Contestants that are eliminated or dead are absent.
  • X is frowning due to Four being missing.
  • X's leg is tilted to form an "N".
  • A dashed outline of Four's body can be seen.
  • The title reads "Battle for Nothing" instead of "Battle for B.F.D.I.".
BFB (Post Split) Intro

The Intro from BFB 17 to BFB 26.

This intro is a reference to the other Battle for Nothing intro from "Zeeky Boogy Doog", down to the part where Yellow Face says that they're just battling for nothing.

In "X Marks the Spot", a new modified shorter intro plays concurrently to the event when TPOT was introduced.

In "The Hidden Contestant" and "Uprooting Everything", a new intro with Profily plays.

In "Uprooting Everything", the landscape changes from The Pillary Ruins to The Desert. Profily is also in a different pose.

In "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning", the landscape is still The Desert, but the Announcer and Purple Face can be seen near Four's bus.

In "SOS (Save Our Show)", Four was removed from the intro, and the landscape got changed, with the cactuses replaced with ones shaped after Four, and the last part of the intro changed, with Four replaced with the Announcer and X frowning. The Announcer has two platforms for X's feet, and is holding up a sign with the letter "F" on it.

In "Chapter Complete", the Announcer replaces Four as the first one seen in the line of characters and is briefly shown in the same style as Four when he crushed Black Hole.

BFB (Post Split) (EP

The Intro in BFB 29

The intro starts after a character's limb is in the same position that Four's hand is in at the beginning of the intro (including most quotes they say before the intro plays), not including BFB 29 and BFB 30 where Four is replaced respectively by nothing and by the Announcer.

Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two[]

TPOT Intro

TPOT intro

The Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two intro was animated by COAL BONES, alongside the music.[1] Ricktoons also made some animations and Amor Boretto colored the intro and he also rendered it but the source file was damaged 21 times as his computer couldn't handle to save it, which caused TPOT 1 to be delayed.[2]

The intro starts off with Two raising their hand in the air with a V-shaped hand gesture, then goes to high five and fist bump Winner. Ice Cube and Cloudy (and now Teardrop as of The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life) appear in a watery transition. Some of that water lands on Fanny, making her scream in anger. Clock then shows up for a split second, alongside Gaty. Needle and Pen appear. Needle is also upside-down. Book appears, and Foldy flies out of one of her pages. Bottle is hit by Foldy, which turns into Nickel, while Tree and Grassy are playing tetherball. Grassy threw the ball with so much force that the ball crashes into Tree's face. The camera then zooms out to reveal TV, Golf Ball, Tennis Ball and Remote watching TV's screen. Golf Ball presses (kicks) Remote, causing Tennis Ball to be dismayed and Remote to be angry. Black Hole appears out of nowhere on the screen, and Golf Ball kicks (presses) Remote again, and the screen turns static. Then, the camera zooms in, which proceeds to Yellow Face cooking Eggy. Lightning appears happily flying across the screen. Barf Bag is seen talking to Bomby whose fuse is lit up thanks to Lightning, but when it runs out, Pie explodes. Donut appears, while Snowball and Basketball are angrily glaring at each other, suggesting that they are rivals now. Coiny high fives Snowball and jumps on top of Basketball, and he then grabs Bell's string. Rocky, Pin and Fries are in front of a grotato plant. Rocky bites onto to the plant, and it sprouts into the air. Cake, Naily, and Price Tag are launched into the air as a result. As Rocky continues rising on the growing plant, Robot Flower is looking at her reflection, which turns out to be Saw. A pentagon appears, showing that Eraser is using Saw now, and he cuts the pentagon into a triangle and a quadrilateral, in reference to "Getting Teardrop to Talk". Pillow puts the triangle on her head while riding Puffball and knocks Marker off a cliff. Marker lands with the rest of the cast on top of Two, while the camera zooms out in BFDI style. The original BFDI intro audio plays for a moment in the background, when zooming out on Two, when they make the "two" symbol with their hand, and the BFDI:TPOT logo appears.

In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", there are a few updates made to the intro. Winner's arm is now shaded, Teardrop is added (seen during the water transition part in the animated sequence and the cast scene), Remote's face is now properly white, Yellow Face's outline is a lot more messy and moves as well, Eggy watched Lightning pass by them, Pie's explosion is blue, Donut turns around and frowns after the screen goes through his hole, movement is added on Cake, Naily and Price Tag, and more shines are added on Saw.

The intro starts whenever a character yells out a word or sentence, and as their voice's pitch becomes higher, the screen fades to Two making the V hand gesture.

Music: "Gibberish!!" by COAL BONES.[1]

Battle for Permission To Meet 10[]

Battle for Permission To Meet 10 Intro

Battle for Permission To Meet 10 Intro

The intro for Battle for Permission To Meet Ten was animated by FusionAnimations.

The intro starts off with solid-color silhouettes of all of the contestants, with the host, Four, appearing at the end of the contestants. An arrow shoots out from them and hits Nine, causing them to fall to the ground. As they fall, they pass Seven and X, who are sitting on some clouds. The 2 of them notice Nine falling and are surprised. On the ground, Five and Six are on a seesaw, when Nine falls on Five, causing Six to get launched into the air. They then land on the ground as the rest of the contestants appear, with the title appearing above them. Everything goes black and white as the contestants disappear, with Ten appearing at the end of the intro before it fades to black.

Trivia[]

I never noticed

Four and X spelling "BFB"

  • Not only do Rocky, Golf Ball, Needle, Tennis Ball, Coiny, Pin, and Ice Cube appear in every intro, but they are also the only characters who are always seen standing on the landscape for each intro before the camera pans (or in BFB's case, transitions) to the title of the show.
  • BFDIA 1 played the intro the latest into the video (percentage-wise).
  • Fanny is the only person in the TLC to be moving in the IDFB intro since her blades are spinning.
    • Firey is the only one outside the TLC with a moving asset.
  • Spongy is the only one with 2 poses in the IDFB intro.
    • Evil Leafy is the only one with 1 pose.
  • A reverbed version of IDFB's intro music, Dadaaa played before the season's release, at the end of Vote Yoylecake.
  • BFDIA, BFB and TPOT's intros are currently the only intros with modified versions.
    • BFDIA's intro was changed once, while BFB's was done so almost every other episode.
  • BFB's intro is played after a character makes a pose similar to the one that Four does in the intro.
    • The contestants who have started the BFB intro are: Snowball, Spongy, Grassy, Bomby, Barf Bag, Coiny, Stapy, Liy, Eraser, Saw, Firey, Loser, Flower, Lollipop, Teardrop, Gelatin, Profily, and Leafy.
      • Snowball is the first contestant to start the intro to BFB.
      • Spongy is the only armless contestant to start the intro.
      • Grassy is both the first BFB newcomer and recommended character to start the intro.
      • Barf Bag is both the first female to start the intro and contestant to do it multiple times, having done it twice. Flower (partly) and Teardrop would later be the second and third contestants to start the intro twice.
      • Stapy is the first eliminated contestant to start the intro.
      • Leafy is the last contestant to start the intro to BFB.
  • Several mistakes and errors can be seen in the early BFB intro:
    • Even though Tree is green, and is shown on the landscape between Tennis Ball and Gelatin, he does not show up in the line of characters until BFB 3.
    • Spongy is missing his legs in the first part of the intro. This was later fixed in BFB 3, but was reversed in BFB 4.
    • Lightning and Pillow didn't have arms when all of the contestants are shown at once until the intro in BFB 3.
    • Until BFB 4, Robot Flower doesn't have a body.
  • The flash file for BFB 3's intro can be found here. It used to be in BFB 3 flash files, but it was mysteriously deleted.
  • Everyone after Marker in the lineup has rough finishes to their limbs and facial features out of everyone else in the intro.
  • If you look closely at X's legs and Four at the end of the BFB intro, it spells "BFB", the name of the season. In the "Battle for Nothing" one-time intro, X's left foot is bent, making it spell "BFN" instead.
  • Starting with BFB 13, the intro got updated with Saw's old handle being replaced with her new pink handle.
  • In BFB 14, the intro gets another update with Dora's hairstyle being replaced with her new ponytail hairstyle.
  • In BFB 17, there was a new intro featuring the contestants still in BFB. The landscape has also changed to match that of The Pillary Ruins.
    • In the following episode, BFB 18, this intro is updated so that no contestant is not on the line.
  • In the BFB post-split intro:
    • Because Flower is at the end of the line, she's the only contestant who retains her previous pose from the pre-split intro.
    • In BFB 26, Profily is in the intro and is placed in the proper color order.
    • Teardrop, Bubble, Lollipop, and Profily are the only characters who are animated during the intro.
      • Profily is also the only character to be animated in the landscape shot.
    • In BFB 27, the intro was once again updated. This time, there’s an animation error where Loser goes too fast, causing Taco to overlap him for a split second.
    • Loser, Firey, Woody, Gelatin, and Leafy are now further apart.
    • Profily has gotten a new pose to fit the BFB style, but they still have the waving animation. Profily is also no longer animated in the landscape shot.
    • The landscape part is now the desert, making it the 3rd time it's been changed.
    • In BFB 28, the Announcer, Purple Face, and Four's Bus are all added in the landscape shot.
    • In BFB 29, the World's Largest Oven is added to the landscape shot.
    • In BFB 30, the Announcer replaces Four as the first character shown in the intro.
  • "Chapter Complete" marks the first and only time where the intro starts without anyone raising their arm (or leg) as the Announcer simply turns to the screen.
    TPOT (EP

All the TPOT contestants (except Teardrop)

  • In the TPOT Intro:
    • TPOT's intro is played after any character says a prolonged word, e.g. "Two" (TPOT 1 and 6), "wait" (TPOT 2), "cheesecake" (TPOT 3), "rich" (TPOT 4), "plates" (TPOT 5), "stop" (TPOT 7), "arms" (TPOT 8), "now" (TPOT 9), and "help" (TPOT 10)
    • Close to the ending of the intro for TPOT, the original bass guitar sample from the first season of BFDI can be heard. During this moment, the visuals also reference the original intro.
    • Remote's facial details are black instead of white. This was later fixed.
    • In the final shot:
      • On TV's screen is a teapot (for "TPOT").
      • Price Tag's face reads "P:2" (for "Power of Two").
      • The time on Clock's face is 2:00 (for "Power of Two").
      • Winner's hand is holding up a V sign—both a "2" (for "Power of Two") and a "victory" (because they're Winner).
      • Donut is doing his same pose from "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know" and prior episodes.
  • aimkid, known for her Lemon Demon fan music videos, was originally considered to animate the TPOT intro. However, she declined due to being in a bad state of her life.
  • The TPOT intro is the first time a different program other than Adobe Animate was used to animate BFDI since "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", the software being Blender.
  • Pie is the only contestant to die in an intro.
  • Basketball is the first contestant to start the intro TPOT.
    • Much like Snowball in BFB, she is also the first ball to start the intro.
  • The TPOT intro is referenced in the BFDIA episode, "Meaty". Where in one scene, Firey yells "Curse you, Tennis Ball!". It even uses the same camera zoom effect that is used to start the intro.
  • Coal bones posted on Twitter an image of notes of the TPOT intro they made while making the intro[1] and there are details worth to be mentioned:
